Older park
By user-6697187... on 2017-10-23.
Very steep hill decline access to park. Personally don't care for grass lots, prefer concrete pad, otherwise dealing with dirt in RV. Very basic park intended for older summer full timers. Many older RV's and trailer park models.

Reserve Early

They're very busy on weekends, so reserve your spot a few weeks out at the minimum. Very nice campground with the exception of walnuts falling everywhere in late summer.

Wonderful Park!
By user-5728917... on 2017-10-23.
This campground is beautiful! I stayed in a pull through site which was spacious and level with a gravel base. It was shaded by trees. The bath house was spotless and hot water was plentiful in the shower. The grounds are well maintained and the seasonal sites have beautiful gardens and decks that are all well maintained. The lady who checked me in was as pleasant as could be. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in the area and I will recommend it to my friends.

Too crowded
By user-5829197... on 2017-10-23.
huge park, too bad the sites are right on top of each other. Lots of open spaces for roaming around, facilities are old and run down needs alot of updating. Will not stay here.

This is nice well maintained park. Lovely staff!
Large open spaces with nice common building. This would be a great location for group gatherings.
Some spaces are in opposit directions which is great for folks traveling together.
There is a private beach with entry point for small water craft.

Could be nice
By user-5221233... on 2018-03-14.
Sits down in a valley with thick canopy of trees making cell reception difficult. Hard to get satellite reception too. WiFi very weak. Seems to have lots of rules. Most likely would not return.

Pretty, well maintained campground

We spent six nights at Blackhawk Valley Campground in our 39’ fifth wheel. We had a long pull-through site on grass that was more than adequate for our needs. The pull-through site are set up with alternating directions so our neighbor’s door faced our door. Thus was not a problem sincethe sites were spacious. The campground is in a valley that is several miles from the highways, thus it was very quiet. The only negative was that our AT&T service was quite weak due to being in the valley. We didn’t use any of the facilities so can’t comment on them. We would definitely return to this campground if in the area.

Pretty park - great people
By user-6453065... on 2019-08-09.
We have stayed here twice, while visiting family nearby. Guests must register at office, which ticked off a few reviewers but all places have rules - no biggie. Transient pull-through sites are on hillside set up with opposite entries so you will face another camper. Again, no complaints - that didn t bother us. Picnic table & firepit at ea site. Full hookups. Large area for group gatherings and activities. Some sites in interior field have no trees. Where we were on the hill was sunny but shaded by camper somewhat. Complaint: restroom in that area needs rebuilding - old but clean. Men s restroom at office / toilet clogged up every day we were there. It is busy in summertime there. Lady in office was wonderful! Yes steep entry but soo pretty!

Nice, clean park with long, level pull-thru sites. Beautiful common area in the center. A lot of long-term/seasonal rigs and quite a few 1-night stands. I can see where this could be a great family location. Lots to do for families.
Staff was super friendly !

Very clean, nice campground. Hot showers, clean bathrooms, right on the Kishwaukee River. Owner very accommodating and on site. Well maintained common areas and sites. Would have loved to stay longer!

One the nicest parks we ever stayed at. Large gravel pull through sites. Lawns are well manicured, lots of shade trees, picnic tables and fire pit at each site. Laundry only had three washers and dryers, but was very reasonable. I can t find anything to complain about at this park
