| Poor to say the least

The campsites under the trees as most are. Were dirt and a mix of old leaves. We raked and cleaned our site. The workers came and removed some of the crud but left the rest for me. Uneven roads and tree limbs overhead made parking for many people a a pain. I don't have a dog. Normally don't mind if others do either. But when you have kennels made out of wire sections covering half of the site next to you with blankets covering them so the dogs don't bark constantly. Wi fi only if you sat in the center hall. Slow as dial up if as usual there was more than a couple three on it. Bathrooms are old but we're clean. Cold and windy if you choose a water view site in winter as they face the bay to the North West. We left way before our intended departure. Staff was friendly . It is what it is

| Eden with Mosquitoes

Lets go with the positives, close to the beach, protected by trees, walking distance to fishing and the Estuary. Large park area, most have some type of tree to cast some shade sometime during the day. If you enjoy walking or riding your bicycle then you won't get too bored in a week. Golf is near on the Island as well. Negatives? I'm sure it is totally dependent on your days on the campground. We had lots of children on bicycles but they dwindled and disappeared by dark (maybe because of mosquitoes) and we were seldom just sitting around outside. No barking dogs but plenty of friendly people, including the employees. Bathrooms/Showers could use a little updating but this is camping. We do plan to go back as it will always be a special place for us. Just remember, it is camping, it is a place for good memories to be made... only as you can make them.

We love this campground! There's no big stores around, speed limits are 35 everywhere, and you can ride your bike anywhere on the island. Super laid back. No pool, so that sucks, but other than that it's great. And if you just have to get your insanity fix, just hop the ferry and Gulf Shores will get your shopping/chain restaurant fix done.
