This park was amazingly kept! Nice level parking spots, wide spots with plenty of room for our travel trailer and truck. The pool was very nice and also had floats and toys for the kids. The laundry facilities were very well kept and had numerous washer and dryers. The staff was very friendly and helpful! We would highly recommend and definitely stay here again!

This is a nice little park which appears to still be a work in progress but they have all the amenities in place for a great spot.
Sites are all gravel but level and very spacious pull throughs with a strip of grass in each spot. Although we did not use any facilities, there is a pool and playground kids.
Very easy on/off I 20 although there is lots of road work at the moment. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and we will stay here again on our annual return to Texas.

I live near this park and needed a dump site to drain holding tanks. When I dropped in to check for a dump site the manager was very friendly and welcoming and quoted five dollars for use of dump site. I returned the next morning and again was welcomed and directed to one of the sites to drain tanks. After completing my project I drove around the park and was very impressed. There is still construction going on but the entire park is very level, sites are large and well designed and very easy access. Road access from I20 should be very easy and access into the park should be easy for all. The facilities appear to be top quality and I wish them great success.

If you are looking for a great place to stay this is it. Sites are large and level, bathrooms are individual rooms with showers. Wi-Fi is the best since I left Calif. Easy access off I-20. Friendly staff. $45 with Sam’ club discount.

One year old park with level sites and son grass in-between sites with cement patio areas. Two nice laundry and shower buildings, pool, dog park and washing area for pups, play ground, pickle ball court. Good Sam.

Everything is clean and new! Still figuring out grass, but that comes with the new! Very friendly place, clean laundry room. Plus there is pickle ball which we enjoy a lot! Big pull through sites! Very nice place!

This is a pretty big and fairly new park. They are ready for you at check-in and are very efficient. The park has mostly pull-thrus with some back-ins on the perimeter. The back-ins appear to be mostly long term. In fact, most of the park is filled with long term residents but all the sites are neat and tidy. There is no landscaping at the moment other than a few small samplings. We were in the back and were one of the rows with no grass between sites just dirt. The sites are plenty long and there is fare spacing between sites. From our site, we heard very little road noise from I-20. There are train whistles but they are a bit off in the distance. It is windy! There is a pool, pickleball court, horseshoes, and a small playground. Direct satellite worked fine. The WII FI works pretty good but slowed down considerably at times. The biggest ding is the entire park is covered in white gravel so you will get dusty.

I was impressed. I called ahead of time and asked for pull thru for night. Young lady was very professional and friendly. I arrived and she had everything ready. The lots a very nice - gravel and level with a cement patio with picnic table. Very clean. The young man who followed me to my sight assisted with my hook up. They knew I was a Senior Solo. Really nice RV Park. Clean and modern restrooms. Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Nice playground, pickle ball, horseshoes and pet areas! Will become really special in a few years when the trees grow up...

Stayed one night while driving across Texas. This is a very new, very nice stop. Large sites, clean and private bathroom facilities, great pool, I highly recommend the Whistle Stop. Even the wifi was pretty good compared to what you usually have to deal with at most places.

Just want to say that the Whistle Stop is an awesome rv park. We passing through Abilene and were involved in a traffic accident on I20. Our truck was severely damaged but thankfully the 5th wheel was spared. Since we're from Dallas, we had 220 miles to get back home. We called the Whistle Stop to see if they had a spot for our 5th wheel so we could stay overnight and figure out what we needed to do. They said yes, and Chris the manager, actually came over in his truck and towed our 5th wheel to their park. It took 2 days to figure out rental cars, body shops, and tow companies to haul the 5th wheel home. Chris didn't charge us for a single thing - AMAZING . So thankful for his help and kindness. Plus, this is a really nice park. Big spots, a dog park, playground, pool, pickleball court, nice little store and even horse pens in the back. Bathrooms and showers were spotless. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a spot in Abilene.

Roads are dirt and gravel which made a mess after the rain. All amenities were well kept. Grassy areas have a lot of weeds. New trees, so no shade yet.

Very friendly and accommodating. This is a very nice park. Very clean and easy to get around. We had a nice end spot with concrete pad with table, chairs and grill. Nice pool, horseshoe pits, pickle ball, kids playground, dog park, laundry and showers. Also a meeting room available to rent. You can see they are working on improvements and adding more sites. The permanent residents have very neat and tidy sites. Will definitely stay again if in the area. This is not just an overnight spot, you could easily stay and see the sites.

It rained (lots of it!) & was cold the entire time there. The sites were long gravel & drained well. Long enough for our 41 ft 5th wheel, truck, & then some. Site also small concrete patio w/picnic table. Great dog park. Pool looked inviting. Nice people. Would definitely stay again.

We had been on the move every 2-4 days for almost a month and needed a break, so booked here for a week. Boy were we pleasantly surprised! Check in was impressive with a nice folder packet, the gals in the office have been friendly & helpful. The grounds crew are always looking for and making improvements. New, clean and all the amenities you can ask for. If the location was a little different it would be a top contender for our winter home. Thank you Whistle Stop for a great stay!

This is a wonderful RV park - clean, quiet, well kept!! The staff is very welcoming and accomdating. We stopped both on the way down and back to AZ and wil DEFINITELY make it a regular stop each year on our way to AZ!!!

Whistle Stop R V Park in Abilene Texas is a hidden treasure. We stayed there for a RV Rally and really appreciated the club house. The staff was extremely accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Every public building was beyond CLEAN!!

This is a relatively new park, and is being done right. We found the staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They even assisted us in locating a good repair shop for our motorhome front-end/tires issue.The rules are somewhat stricter than other places, but are fair and reasonable. We stayed here during several periods of heavy rain. We did not even get muddy. The pads and drives are packed rock that did not hold water and the patios are concrete, so no issues there. We did find that the mosquitos were out in force, but obviously due to all the rain. Bring "Off" and your Thermacells until dryer weather is here! Small trees have been planted, but expect no shade for awhile. The park is clean and quiet, except for the inherent I-20 background noise. Yes, I will recommend this park and this is where we'll stay again those times we're in Abilene.

This place has the most awesome, helpful staff I have ever dealt with. The property is newer so there are not any trees, but the wind makes up for it. It is clean, spots are level, and amenities are wonderful. There is a swimming pool, laundry in a couple of areas, playgrounds, dog run, horse stalls, and more. We will definitely use this park whenever we are in the Abilene area.

Staff was very friendly and helpfull, the entire property was spotless from the sites to the dog wash station. They have it all, store, laundry, private bathroom/shower, pool etc.. Easy on, easy off highway access. Nothing negative here.

One of the nicest rv parks I ve stayed at. The office staff was very friendly and helpful, they have nice wide level spots, picnic tables, a huge clean pool that stays open till 10pm, Laundry facility , and the showers were the best! Inside the Bath House was like several individual hotel bathrooms with toilet, sink, mirror & shower all in your own private room with solid door, it s clean, smelled nice and air conditioned. The owners definitely thought about what travelers want/need in an rv park!
Would definitely stay here again!
