| Beware of dogs

Remarkably good park. But you WILL encounter loose dogs, against which you must be prepared to defend yourself. Leash laws are not enforced here.

| Absolutely Beautiful

Nestled along the river, this sight offers 5 miles of walking trails. There's plenty of crane watching and nature to see. There is also the fort which allows you to see what life was like along the trails west. Far enough from the interstate to be quiet and peaceful but close enough to keep you on your journey. Give this spot a try.

| Good overnight stay

This campground is quiet and good for an overnight. It has electric only. There was a pump for water, and a regular faucet near a group shelter. There was a dump station. Some sites are nicely shaded. The sites cost $20 with electric, which seemed a bit high. We enjoyed the fireflies at dusk from the inside of the camper. The Mosquitos were prevalent.

Great spot for a quick overnight stay. Not far off the interstate and worth the effort. Large sites with shade. Bathroom was clean and there are pay showers. Adjoining rail to trail path to the Platte River is great for stretching your legs after a long day in the car.

| Really nice park

I was a bit amazed at this park. Lots of trees provided really great shade (although the weather turned on us and we didn't need shade). Very picturesque. Down side was the restrooms (a little bit on the grungy side) and the showers (you had to pay for them). Otherwise, a good campground. Would definitely stay there again. Lots to do if you have family, both in the park and in the Kearney area.

| Beautiful state park

Very well kept state park. Plenty of walking/biking paths and the camp hosts have 50+ bikes available for kids/adults to use for free. Lakes are small, but good for fishing/kayaking. Fallen trees from storms are cut up by the Boy Scouts and available for free for campfires. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Would definitely stay here again. Also make sure to check out the Pioneer Village about 10 miles south in Minden. Well worth it.

| Needs a little tlc

Gravel sites are back in only and pretty small. Campground was a little trashy especially in the fire rings. Some of the fire rings and picnic tables were overdue for maintenance. Showers were .75 for 3 minutes and .25 per 90 seconds after that. Not the cleanest I have been in. Water smelled of sulphur. Bike trails were A+. The historical fort was interesting. only place I found to fill water tank was a hydrant near the dump station. Again water smelled. Appears to be a nice park suffering from lack of staff and funding.
