Great state park
By user-6225082... on 2017-10-23.
This is, by far, the most popular state park in the state. As a result, it's crowded during the summer months. It has great access to the beach as well as historical sites. Facilities are clean and reliable. Well worth the stay!

Bring your bike if you have one! This place is going to be a regular for us (4 hrs away). Sites all seem to have good separation and there are bushes in between a lot of them. Very level, no blocks needed for me. Very wooded so our awning didn't come out till it rained a bit on us. You can bike everywhere! Bike to the lake, Bike to the shipwreck, Bike to the hiking trails, Bike to the showers, Bike through all the loops of the park, literally everywhere has a bike other to it. The paths are paved, prolly 8 feet wide, and level a lot of times. We paid 32 dollars a night for full hookups. Fire pits in every site as far as I could tell. All the locals outside the park sell firewood so you pay a fair price, but not too much. Bring mosquito spray! Bathrooms were clean and there was one for a big loop but they were never crowded. Lots of families here, and a lot of pets, dog walking. Park rangers everywhere and they were all very friendly and answered all of my stupid questions with a smile! I can't think of one negative about this park at all. We will be back here!

Great park

I only stayed one night but could certainly go back. Large park with a lot to offer. Didn't get code to try wifi, no cable but had a few Ota channels to choose from. Very quiet at night in loop M.

This is a very large park, so bring your bicycles or good walking shoes! It is well laid-out with several small loops and good facilities. We encountered a lot of mosquitoes, so bring the bug spray.

Good start to our summer on the Oregon Coast. Nice size site with plenty of trees. Bugs were a bit of a nuisance. Did not use any of the facilities.

Fabulous
By user-5517425... on 2017-10-23.
Why stay anywhere else, lovely park, with bike trails, hiking, beach, historical musems, shipwreck. So many camping spots to choose among grass, woods, and in between. We had 4G verizon, and could stream. Must use septic at gate when you leave, otherwise full hookups.

This is a large park with sights of all kinds, very clean bathrooms and free showers. Tons to do in the park so make sure you have time to spend so you don't miss any of it. Great for biking and hiking. The only thing I dislike about this park is it large and they have NO trash cans around the park, makes it hard to clean up after your dog, but I did and carried it with...gross...No ATT cell in the park but take it with as you hike an move throw the park you will pick up places you can us it. I would for sure stay here again if in area. There is a KOA right at the gate, pass it up and go on into the park, unless you what all that stuff Koa Has but it will cost you almost $80.00 a night at only $30.00 at sate park. I camped here in a 32' motorhome

Great State Park
By user-5226646... on 2017-10-23.
Great park with level and pull thru sites. Beach is nearby but may not be walkable for all. $30 a night plus $8 park fee. Good base for exploring the area.

A great campground with 4x4 beach access!

For starters, this campground is another wonderful Oregon State campground. We would give this state park a 5 star rating except there are a LOT of mosquitos and they are pretty vicious...I'm not sure I could sit outside around the campfire with these guys around. Other than that park is beautiful, with a lot of trees and vegetation. The whole park is very clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed taking our Jeep down onto the beach and partaking of a little 4x4 action. We would come here again without question. A big advantage of this full hookup campground is the price... $32 vs $80 at the less beautiful KOA across the street...Yikes!

Wonderful State Park
By user-6326054... on 2017-10-23.
This is one of our favorite stops on our trip. We were very impressed with how clean the park is, the sites we saw were all level. We drove through several loops before choosing our site, it is a huge area. We were able to receive both our satellite signal as well as local stations by antenna. Lots of trees, and bushes give privacy between sites. Trash and dump station on the way out of the park. We will stay here again.

First time in state park
By user-5359460... on 2017-10-23.
Oregon has its parks together. Rivals anything we have been in in our vast experience of 3 weeks. New to this. Beautiful land. Fun people including the Rangers. For satellite service stick to loop d or e along the major road. Pretty much blocked by trees everywhere else. Fun trek to the beach. Dog had seriously sandy paws and loved it. Will come back

One of our favorite campgrounds

This would normally be 5 stars, as this is one of our favorites with excellent beach access, miles of great bike trails, a fun shipwreck, whale watching, and old military forts to scramble around on.

I was amazed how nice this state campground was!
By user-6078441... on 2018-07-06.
This is a huge campground with lots of sites, including very large back in sites for 45' RV's. We only had water and 50 Amp electric, not sure if other sites had sewer. This was the nicest state park I have ever seen. Never hit a low hanging branch, very good signage. Can be a bit of a walk to the trash depending on what loop you are in. We would stay here again. Sure wish California parks were similar to this Oregon State Park.

Nice state park

Rained a lot which is normal for the area. Beach is over 1 mike away from most sites. We had a Lake at our door the last morning. This is a HUGE state park with over 500 sites and only one trash dump on the way out. All in all, the fort is very interesting, beach is pretty, and camp site fairly quiet. The park was full so it s a good thing we made reservations in January.

Nice location, but tight and low.

Nice location, very wooded. Beach is a ways away. But worth going to . Fort is worth visiting.
Sites are small, right and overgrown, we had a lot of trouble backing our 30 5th wheel into our spot. Overhanging branches are a problem also.
Great for camping, tents and small bumper pools, you can make it on a 5th, just be careful of the site.

This is an enormous park with 13 loops and at least 500 sites in two sections (north and south) for RVers and tent campers. Four loops have full hookups and the others are electric. There also is a small number of cabins and yurts. Other reviewers have commented on heavy tree growth and dense vegetation. That s still true in June 2019 in Loop L where I stayed. I didn t encounter low tree limbs or branches interfering with traffic on the roadway. Availability of showers and restrooms varies from loop to loop. I didn t use their facilities so can t comment on condition or cleanliness. The sheer size of the park and compactness of the loops may leave you longing for a smaller park.

Nice Park
By user-4993158... on 2019-08-09.
Very large park so look closely at which site you select. If you want water select closer to water etc... would come back here but not be so close to main road next time
