What a setting for a campground, with views of the monuments from your RV site. Campgrounds, stores and other buildings all well cared for. Folks with big rigs will have a problem with the tight turns. My 25 ft Class A motor home did just fine.

Clean secure facilities, sites large enough but a little off level gravel, Full Hook Ups, Some Shade Trees, expensive at $63. Highlight was Forest Gump's Stop was at mile 13 on Hwy 163, had fun trotting up the yellow line of the road for pictures, would stay here, 31' Motorhome w/ Toad

Gorgeous!

This campground is absolutely the most gorgeous one I've ever stayed at! I have a 36' motorhome and we had no problems getting in our spot! Yes maybe a little narrow but absolutely worth the view. I have 3 slides and had no problem opening any of them. The shuttle around the Gouldings properties were great and extremely convenient. Would love to stay again! Beautiful stray dog that I would have loved to take home. He's a brindle if you go and see him. Named him Navajo!

Over rated and offer priced
By user-5801708... on 2017-10-23.
This is a third rate park for a premium price. Cable tv works poorly and not often. Wifi is slower than dial up. Next to a very noisy road. We will not return.

Agree with the other posters, BUT scenery makes up for it.

Not sure why the bad reviews. Clean, beautiful scenery, well maintained, friendly. Really expensive at $61 though...that's why no 5th star.

I really do NOT understand what there is to complain about this place! Probably people with these 50ft motorhomes who don't even come outside and sit behind their big tv screens! We came here on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Very friendly staff, nice, spacious enough spot, nr.28, level!!!!!! Nice clean pool, good enough WIFI and great vieuws! Traveling in our 30ft, class C, Winnebago. We have seen way way WAY worse! Would come here again!

Over priced

Stayed 2015-05-22 to 2015-05-24
We stayed here in May 2015. Site was not level, sewer hook up was higher than our coach, wifi only works if you are at the office, cable will not work on digital/flat screen TV's. paid $47.61 Good Sam rate and felt ripped off. Had to use the dump station to empty our ranks, so full hook up meant nothing to us. Would not stay here again.

Nice Park

Good park, our 40' motorhome was all that fit in the pullthru. It was about 8" off level so the jacks barely worked. The paved streets to the sites were extremely narrow, like 8' exactly. I had no issue getting in but was worried about all the other trailers and coaches getting by me without hitting me. Small trees, didn't give much shade, but any was better than none. Restrooms were clean, we didn't use anything else. Appeared to be the best place to stay that i could see after driving around the next day.

Great park

Frendly staff. Park was clean and neat. Great views. Good walking trails. Offers guided tours of the valley. No grass but hay this is reservation and water is scarce. Would stay here again in fact plan on doing it again next year.

Great Scenery
By user-5209872... on 2017-10-23.
Base camp for our visit to Monument Valley. Views were awesome, staff friendly and helpful. Sites are close, some would be a slight challenge. If you're there when it rains, prepare for mud, just part of the landscape as no vegetation to hold the soil. Just something to deal with. We did have to change sites, and they accommodated us.
Be sure to take a tour of the Valley, learn a lot from your tour guide that you wouldn't going on your own. Wouldn't take my low clearance vehicle (HHR) out there. They provide shuttle to/from the Goulding's Lodge, but was disappointed with the restaurant, pricey for the food.
Loved Monument Valley.

I can see the monument volleyball.
It seems better to reserve it in the summer. (Translated from Japanese)

The worst on our trip so far

There are a lot of facilities and it is one of the most beautiful campgrounds we visit. However, in March the showers are closed from 4pm till 7am. When you take a shower at 10am they are closed again because they have to be cleaned. When you can take a shower you are waiting in line because half of the showers aren't accessible. The staff is so unfriendly it is nearly rude. Half of the campground is empty but we got a lot between already standing RVs. It was a poor experience on a beautiful campground for $62 a night. You have to pay $8 for every extra person.

Pricey but nice
By user-4985740... on 2019-08-09.
Beautiful location with easy access to local attractions. Sight we were in was a bit tight for our rig, there were larger sights but we made it work. They charge for kids over 7yrs old at the adult rate, so by the time it all added up (for two nights and 5 people) we were near $90/night. Campground was clean, and kids enjoyed the pool. Short hike right from campground.

Nice setting but our camp site was too tight

We booked a small back-in site but didn't know how small it really was. We backed in to the site fine but discovered no room to put our Jeep. They suggested their parking lot. We moved the picnic table to the very back of the site and parked in front of it. It was a tight fit. If we visit again, we will get a pull through site.

Loved our stay here. It's quite and the scenery is breathtaking. Sites are level and easy to get into and out of even with a tow. Were able to hike behind the park, and ride bikes in the park. Dogs also enjoyed our visit here

Four tries at the right camp spot
By user-5695906... on 2019-08-09.
Stayed 2019-03-16 to 2019-03-19
Nice scenery with little trail leading to a natural arch at the campground. All dirt sites but with ample room. Have tent sites also. Took four tries at finding a good site for us. 1st one the water spiot did not work, 2nd site had a plugged sewer pipe, tissue all over site so it had been plugged for awhile, 3rd site was too small for our rig, 4th one was just right with a great view of monuments. Stayed 3 nights, ok shower but they closed early with the office (8pm). Bathrooms in office and outside (ask for a bathroom key). Made sure you are well supplied, not well stocked at little store). BYO booze, this is dry country, no Alcohol.

Lovely, great camping
By user-6624723... on 2019-08-09.
This is a very Nice Good Sam campground. Nicely decorated in the middle of the mountains. Wi-Fi is great, bathrooms are great. The only negative point is all the sand but hey, you're in Monument Valley so you can not expect otherwise. The small supermarket around the corner has everything you need. And the souvinirs shop was a real great too. Make sure you take home some original Navajo crafting. There are tours that leave from reception.

Goulding's is best in Monument Valley
By user-6598467... on 2019-08-09.
Sites are a little tight, but what a view! Loved it there. Internet spotty, cell on Verizon spotty 3g. Cable ok, but did I mention the view! Great laundry. Pool good, inside. Be sure to see arches on the trail. Easy hike. Try fry bread at the restaurant. Great.

Great CG. Full hookups. You ll need the a/c when you get back from day tripping. Visit Mexican Hat about 30 south of the CG. Everything is within walking distance. Tours pick you up out front. Sites are usual size. Nice walking trails right at your CG door. We booked a tour for $80 with the Navajo and spent sunset viewing all the buttes and desert. Food market is reasonable and there s a car wash at the gas station. You really get to see how the native Navajo live out there. No power, no water. Very primitive and they re pleasant.
