Hunt's Cedar River Campground

Definitely needs a face lift. Shower house is not convenient to camp sites and up a steep hill. Difficult to set up after dark. Difficult to connect to sewer so we didn't and dumped in the morning before we left. We never saw any staff and we didn't leave until after 930 in the morning. Definitely convenient to the interstate 80 if you need a place to stop over for the night.

Although the Cameron's is right by the Cedar River, the sites are high enough to not be impacted by flooding. Even the record flood of 2008 did not get up to the RV sites.

Made reservations online for full hookups, 50 amp service. I stopped at a truck wash about 20 miles away and had our 38' motorhome washed only to discover that the RV park is located appx. 1 mile down a dusty gravel/dirt road ... so be forewarned. Arrived at 1:30 pm and found the office closed with sign on the door to call Chris or John. Called and was told to drive down to the campsites and pick any open spot to the right of the wooden fence. These are grass "tandem" sites right along the interstate and there is a LOT of traffic noise that may be a problem for some. Several sites were open so we picked one, pulled in, and lowered the jacks. Turns out the site had no sewer and 30 amp electric. After looking at a few other sites and finding them to be 30 amp I called Chris and was told that there should be some 50 amp sites in the area or I could find a spot on the next row of sites which would also be further from the traffic noise. Unfortunately none of the open spots on the next row were level enough for us but we did find one open 50 amp spot on the front row. It had water but no sewer hookup. So, we paid for FHU but did not have sewer. Maybe there was a site that had everything however a reservation holder shouldn't have to search the RV park to find it. The traffic noise was bad and I'm not sure how well the grass site would have been had it been wet or rainy. The one good was that it was not crowded so lots of grassy areas to walk the dog.

Found this place on the app. Nice little area for a one night stop. Showers and bathroom were clean. Laundry room was next to the shower. Sits right next to the freeway. There is a wooden fence up to try and quiet this but does not help much. Pool and game room were also well kept. Large playground for the kids.

| Dusty Road and Gnats

This place is older with lots of trees. The road is 4 tenths of a mile long to get to the rv park. Everything will be covered with white thick powder dust! The backup camera on the class A was covered in dust, even driving very slowly. It is buggy so have spray...The road noise is loud and pay attention to the little site map as you check in, nothing is clearly marked.

| Restrooms and showers are a long walk

We called several days ahead of time and made a reservation. Upon arrival the office was closed no indication that they were holding a spot for me. Sign for anyone driving up was to just pick any open spot. Restrooms and showers are located by the office and not close to the camping area. Should have to walk a good ways uphill to get to them. Not sure I would stay again
