This isn't a bad park, but there's nothing great or exceptional about it EXCEPT for the $55 price tag. Every KOA I've ever been to us over priced, but $55/ngt. In rural Pennsylvania is insane.
We've used this park traveling through the area on our way to and from New Hampshire, a full day drive, but one of the few parks convenient to the interstate that's open all year. The park has good, long full hookup pull through sites. The staff has been very helpful in reserving us an easy in/out site that does not require disconnecting from our 5th wheel. There are outstanding services at the exit - food, fuel, etc., many open 24 hours. The campground store has a good selection of rv supplies and a decent small grocery. Our level site had good steady 50 amp power and good water pressure. WiFi service was spotty, cell phone service (Verizon) was good. Rates were reasonable considering the market and location.
There's so much to do near this long-standing family campground, new to the KOA family. Located within a mile of both I-81 and I-78, this KOA is an easy stopover for those passing through and is OPEN ALL YEAR. Convenient to all Hershey attractions for your family vacations, your hosts offer a free shuttle to Hersheypark when you purchase your park tickets in the KOA general store. Adjacent Swatara State Park provides miles of bike trails or spend the day splashing in the Swatara Creek in a kayak, canoe or tube rental from the campground. Visit Amish Country and Gettysburg National Military Park, both easy day trips. The Fort Indiantown Gap Military Reservation & National Cemetery are nearby. Enjoy a full roster of theme weekends, including haunted hayrides on Saturdays in October. Jonestown KOA has a full-service general store offering Broaster chicken, Soft-serve & Hershey's hand dipped ice cream, fresh-sliced deli meats, groceries & RV supplies.
