Great wooded area
By user-5796897... on 2017-10-23.
Natural area that is next door to NC arboretum. Due to this, there are miles of trails. They have campground hosts on every loop. Bath houses are very clean. Downtown Asheville is 15 minutes away. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is very close. Nice small lake with nice small beach and dock to fish off of away from the beach. Very quiet and dark at night.

Beautiful- Quiet in the National forest/mountains of NC
By user-5816601... on 2017-10-23.
Dog and people friendly. Super relaxing. Shaded spots for variety of campers. Well kept bathrooms. Walking and riding trails. Weekend programs available but we were too relaxed to try them.

I can't give a better review than those already written. If you need Verizon service it's there at 3g and OTA TV is sparse but that's not why you would camp here. Note: they did have bear warnings posted and told us at check in. Mountain bike trails are everywhere and so are the bikers. It's very quiet and each site is secluded.

Location easy to find. We tent camped to get an idea how it would be when we go in our fifth wheel in the summer. Sites are full hookup lake side. Trails after trails to walk/bike. Lake dock has fishing rod holders . Bath houses were the cleanest I have ever seen. Awesome campground. Location to BRP and NC arboretum. Very pleased the camp host makes rounds frequently. Sweet spot!

Oh yes! Heavily wooded campsites on level pads combined with abundant hiking . . . Tons of trails for hikers, mountain bikers, and horse lovers. These niceties plus the amazing scenery have made this spot a new favorite.

Everything I want in a rv park. Big secluded spaces, biking and hiking trails, a swimming pond. My only complaint is the camp hosts were some pretty uptight retirees. You're in a beautiful space and super close to asheville so I suppose it's worth the borderline rudeness of the hosts at times.

Lovely park and close to Biltmore. We arrived on March 1 as that was the day it was scheduled to open for the season. Road still a bit slushy, but park manager helpful and friendly. Beautiful forest surroundings, full hook ups. Quiet. Would definitely stay here again. Forest Service park, so federal discounts apply.

Pretty...

It's a very pretty campground. Be aware that if you plan on biking to the beach, it's very hilly and you'll have a heart attack on the way. The cell phone reception is pretty much non-existent except at the Big John loop. And there's really not alot to do there if you have a toddler, other than the little beach. We ended up leaving a day early because of all this.

Very nice campground
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.
Very nice campground. Would have given 5 stars except for the water pressure in the showers which was horrible. The campground and bath houses are very nice. The showers looked so nice we decided to shower there instead of our trailer. Big mistake since the water pressure was so low you basically had to stand against the wall to get wet.

Very nice state park. Nice level sites. We had full hook ups. There were no separate showers or bathrooms for men/women & the door wouldn t lock on one of the bathrooms. Since we re self-contained, I gave 4 stars, but it would be difficult if tenting or needed to use the facilities. Only 2 bathrooms & 2 showers for both men & women.

Great campground very convenient to Asheville but feels like miles from nowhere.
