Retirement RV Park

Spaces close together but a pleasant park with music on the weekends. Seems to have a lot of retirees. The picnic table at my site was really crooked, however. Nice bathrooms and shower. Sprint and AT&T coverage good.

Excellent Campground
By user-5785783... on 2017-10-23.
This is a well laid out, well run, well maintained campground. Great location along a small clear water river. The CG has kept the river front as public use area, so is a great place to walk or just sit and watch the water go by. This is a park best suited to couples, as there are not a lot of things for children to do but IMHO, every campground doesn't need to be set up for young children. While the rules do state, no golf carts, I have seen several being operated in the CG. Here in mid October, the CG is almost full so would suggest a reservation.
This is an older campground, but well maintained with a good mix of site lengths, mostly pull throughs. Most of the sites have room for slides on both sides.

Great Value

Winter Rate was excellent, $20 a night. The Wifi was great. Nice facilities with lots of amenities like pool, playground, picnic pavilions, shuffleboard, etc. Most of that was not open this time of year, but looked nice. Green space next to creek for walking or campfires. Staff is very friendly. Only negative is spaces were close together, but this time of year there were not many people so we never had someone right next to us. Park is right next to busy street so get a spot away from the road if possible. The log/wood business across the river was not overly intrusive and never bothered us.

Outstanding
By user-5854985... on 2017-10-23.
Clean, very well maintained. Flat, level sites. Staff was friendly and helpful. Has a creek running through it and to small ponds very nice. The industry mentioned in reviews was not an issue. They have a playground and activities for the kids. Also, a pool and hot tub (adults only). Shower house is immaculate. The entire campground is very well maintained. Would absolutely stay here again!

Mostly level small treed sites. Small but very clean bath house. Lawn mower runs 7 days a week. Need over sight on dogs, left barking and dogs being walked on retractable leases wandering into campsites.

peaceful
By user-5844570... on 2017-10-23.
Just pulled off 40 West, rock slide, traffic parking lot, road closed. Wandered into this very peaceful, quiet, older park with river sites. Sites are skinny, tried one couldn't get our 40ft class A in it. Picked a river site for only $5 more a night. Worth IT!

Golden Age Park

Staff seemed relatively friendly.
Camp hosts friendly.
Lawn mower gets up and personal to your campsite and belongings. The older gentlemen that mows seems to really get into his mowing.
Staff golf carts are seen often.
Mostly older people frequent this campground, so very few families with children, except holidays. This is not a partying type campground and people hit the hay very early or at least appear that way.
Lots of square dancing events for older clientele.
Pool opened early which was nice of them and stays open until 10pm, but nobody uses it except for the random family with children that happen upon the campground.
Bathrooms were very clean and cooled with AC. Nice showers with excellent pressure and hot water.
Nice little playground, miniature golf course and ping pong table.
Hot tub opened at certain hours and for adults only.
Nice but very little fishing pond with some pan type fish and channel catfish--some big ones, too.
Nearby creek-need license to fish for trout.
Truck traffic is somewhat annoying but can get used to it. Does quiet some at night, except for a straggler or two.
A wood industry plant resonates with a low frequency, which sounds a lot like the Star Trek Enterprise's Impulse Engines; which is like white noise--can put you to sleep. During the day it can be easily heard given the wind direction. Also the wind carries a cow manure smell during the evening and night toward the campground. Can be strong at times.
Grounds are open and flat yet almost each site has a giant maple tree or two for shade. The nearby campground-Creekside, isn't as open and looked to have less space between RV sites, yet both share the same river.
At first I was leaning toward a 3 star given the campground appears geared toward older people and not families with children, but 3.5 to 4 is a good rating, as they do try to make the camping experience enjoyable for the kids, too with the park, golf, pool, ping pong, pond, and river.

Great place
By user-5850448... on 2017-10-23.
We were here on a weeknight in November and it was wonderfully peaceful. Very pretty, lots of trees. Because of our timing, we had plenty of space around us (no neighbors). It didn't really bother us but we were adjacent to the road with traffic/lights throughout the night.

Mixed feelings about this place. The location is excellent, nice creekside campground with trees all around and the mountains in every direction. Plenty of things nearby to see and do. We were in the off season for a lot of things, so the pool looks nice, and they have shuffleboard and a putt putt course and horseshoes. There is a gameroom that is always open, and there seems to be a lot of square dance events. The campground itself was a little disappointing. Gravel roads that could use a little gravel, and gravel sites for the most part, that could use some gravel. It was really wet while we were there, so I guess that might not have helped. The staff was nice and I would return, maybe it was that the bad weather was working against it.

Nice campground. Campers are a little close for us but we stayed a week. Awesome showers and bathrooms. Nice laundry room plenty of washers and dryers. The works are very nice. A lot to do if your retired. They had a icecream night it was good. It would be good for kids. Nice cable tv. Nice pool a little store if you need anything. They serve breakfast on the weekends.
