We called to make sure that there was room for our motor home before we stopped. Person on phone said plenty of room. You can have most any spot that you want. But when we arrived we could not. We wanted spot by water and it wasn't available because "they were taking down Christmas decorations". So they put us in the main entrance right next to cabins, which were actually double wide house trailers. There were no pads nor fire rings. It rained most of the night so it was a dirty mess. Pets were welcome and that was nice. The people running the place as well as those staying at the park were very nice. They should not even say that they have cable because it's so bad that you can't see a picture. If you just want to listen to your tv it's ok I guess. So unless you are coming to attend one of their big music events, I'd keep driving by this place.
SOSMP is one of my most favorite places ever! Aside from the incredible music festivals the host yearly (which are top notch ) the park itself gorgeous! The live oak trees and the Spanish miss hanging from them give an incredible feel to the property. The staff are always friendly and helpful. You have access to a white sandy beach by the river as well as kayak and canoe rentals within the park. The park also rents golf carts which are needed because the park is massive! Can't wait to return! Hulaween tickets in hand already! See you in October!
It is a big park, very rustic, great store, great music Hall and band on weekend. Bathrooms need deep cleaning and doors on toilets, shower curtains were the norm. It rained while we were there so camp spot became a pond, thank goodness I was in rv, tents were having tough time. Great place to go for music fest.
