Nice setting
By user-5873339... on 2017-10-23.
Beautiful and relaxing park. The roads and sites are paved, most are fairly level, with full hook ups. There is paved trails to walk or ride bikes, also off road trails for mountain bikers. The water park looks nice, but wasn't open when we were there. Close by to grocery stores, restaurants, wineries, and Old Salem (Winston Salem). There is a place for dogs to roam off lease. We have stayed here twice and probably will again.

Great place to camp
By user-6412337... on 2017-10-23.
Tanglewood has been renovated in the last few years in the county has done an excellent job. We stayed for almost a week and had a wonderful time hiking and riding bicycles and being with her two dogs. There is a lot to do at Tanglewood park itself and there are a lot of restaurants and other things very close in the Clemmons area. The park is very clean and well cared for and you will enjoy staying here.

Quiet, peaceful and relaxing

We stopped here purely by happenstance, looking for an overnight not far off the highway. Ended up staying for two nights. The lots are (mostly all) level and private, full serviced, under the shade of the Willow Oaks, beautifully landscaped on estate type of grounds. Lots of walking, hiking and biking trails. Well worth the stop!!

Great Park
By user-6328121... on 2017-10-23.
This is a great county park. Onsite are several golf courses, snack bar, miles of paved multi-use trails, stables, aquatic center, playgrounds, sports fields, a dog park, farmers market, etc. Across street are restaurants, groceries, hair and nail salon etc. Campsites are large, paved with grassy areas but no shrub barrier between. Showers hot with good pressure. Camp hosts and park staff friendly and helpful.

Beautiful setting.

We stopped for one night along our way home. Too bad for us! It is a lovely setting. Our site was very level and the host came around about an hour after we got here to see if everything was ok. TV reception was not good, but there was a storm in the area and our televisions might not be as good as they could be on our new coach. In any event, we would definitely come back and stay longer. We are in a 37 ft motorhome.

Nice park but most sites very unlevel

Tanglewood is about a mile off I-40 which is very convenient. It is pretty quiet but you can hear road noise from somewhere especially in the morning. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful from the check-in to the camp hosts. Lots of things at this park - cottages, manor house, tennis courts, ponds, hiking/biking/horse trails and a bunch of other stuff. There is canoe access to the Yadkin river. Many locals appear to take advantage of the amenities. It is a nice looking park where most sites have semi shade and all are paved. The spacing is decent but there is no privacy. The downside is almost every site is extremely un-level, mostly dropping from front to back. Big rigs would never be able to level in these sites. The evenest sites are 18-23. We had the only pull-thru site which was plenty long enough but we had to be satisfied with almost level. We could not use the WII FI from our site. We did not try raising our Directv dish so don t know if we had coverage but is doubtful due to trees. Verizon was strong at 4g 4 bars. We would stay here again but would be selective on the site.

Mr GruntHunter's Review

One of the most beautiful campgrounds we've stayed at to date and definately plan on returning for a longer stay. We camped in a 45ft Class A towing a F-150 in site #10 (their only pull thru site) and had no problem getting level. The park itself is huge but the campground is relatively small. Staff and camp host are fantastic and extremely helpful. They were in the process of setting up their Festival Of Light displays and wish we could be there to see in completed. This place has to be North Carolina's best kept secrets!

Fantastic RV Park!

This park is absolutely beautiful. The dog park is huge. The internet & cable work great. We stayed during the Festival of Lights (also a must see) which came with a free pass to tour the festival. We will be back!

Beautiful!
By user-5280788... on 2019-08-09.
This is a beautiful city park underneath gorgeous old oak trees. I would have given 5 stars but some of the sites are sloped for drainage. If you have a unit that is picky to level, then go somewhere else or bring things to help level. It poured rain the whole time we were here so couldn't partake of the walking trails that are here. We will be back and will definitely ask for a level site.

We stayed here on our way back from OBX on our way down to Asheville. It was definitely worth the stay. Quiet, peaceful, family oriented and close to
restaurants if needed I would highly recommend this park

Beautiful Property & Campground

Stayed two nights at site 23 in this small campground after a six hour drive from West Virginia. While we love the tranquility and beauty of this property, a walk through the site revealed many sites which were quite un-level. The Class A next to us had its front tires on at least eight inches of wooden blocks. I think we got very lucky with a site which was more level than just about any other. Good water quality and pressure and 2-3 bars on Verizon.
