So so
By user-5864087... on 2017-10-23.
Absolutely impossible 180 degrees turn back into rv park off interstate. Have to pass and find somewhere suitable to turn around and come back. All river front spots are booked with long term residents. We went the weekend of thanks giving and most all parks in the area were booked. I called Wilsons and the guy on the phone was rude as could be and would not reserve me a spot nor promise me I would have one when I got there. He kept saying "you should be alright we have a few spot open right now". Luckily there was an open spot when we got there. Took two days to finally get ahold and catch mr Wilson to register and pay. Slabs were unlevel. They advertised bike rentals and other things but was told they don't in off seasons. Park is within a 5-10 minute drive from down town Asheville which was very convenient. A walking trail along the French broad river runs right though the campground which is nice if you like to exercise or bike or walk your dog. Overall the park is nice, simple, and clean. Close to town and interstate. 33 a night. I would stay again but not before I tried out others in the area.

Nice place

Stayed 2016-06-02 to 2016-06-05
We enjoyed our stay here, but make note that there is no cable even though their website says there is. The sharp, hairpin turn to enter the CG at the bottom of the exit ramp off I-240 is impossible to make in an RV. We drove a short distance to a city park to unhook the toad and turn around. The signs are confusing as their registration office is at their RV repair business a few doors away from the CG. Go there to register before entering the CG. We did not, but there was a very helpful, friendly host on site who took care of us. I had to walk back to the office to pay as she only takes cash.
Our FHU site was on the river, was a concrete slab, and was level. The WiFi is mostly slow. Was able to use on occasion, but mostly used my own. There is noise from I-240 when outside, but didn't hear when inside the RV. There is a city-run walking/bike path that runs right through the center of the CG. It continues one way along the river and continues the other way to the city-run park. This was quite interesting to see and enjoyable to watch all the activity. We would stay here again.

2017 Greyhaven Diary visit
By user-4693425... on 2017-10-23.
Winter camping in this small RV Campground on the French Broad River. Positive observayions:
1.) Close to downtown Asheville, accessible by an Uber car or your dingy. Uber does come and take you to pubs and restaurants in town, where it is very difficult to pack large rigs.
2.) Only 4 miles from the Biltmore Estate entrance. Easy drive down Amboy road into Biltmore Village. Yes, they can accommodate large rigs (ours is a 36' class A, not towing). Easy parking in RV lots, shuttle to the main house.
Negatives:
1.) Loud highway noise from the interstate...especially loud truck air brakes.
2.) Impossible 180 degree entrance off the interstate ramp. Just go down the street a bit, to the store. Turn around there using their parking lot.
3.) Limited number of sites. Some are not level (not river side). We had site 2..it was fine. We used our auto leveling and did ok. Satellite was easy to access too.
3.) Limited store but in an RV repair shop.
Low key RV Park. Simple, basic camping, 50 amp, full hookup.
Would come again, especially on warmer weather.

Very Nice Park

...impossible U-turn (180 degree turn but more like a upside "V"-turn) into park. Need to drive further down on road and do a U-ee or turn into park 1/4 mile down the road and come back.
All amenities with strong secure Wi-Fi. A nice place for R&R and sightseeing Asheville.
There is a public running/bicycle path through the RV park which is slightly unnerving but still safe.
Definitely will return if in the area.

Wonderful
By user-5734976... on 2017-10-23.
We had an excellent stay at Wilson's. The park is beautiful with an incredible walking path and the river is so pretty. Great people conveniently located....the only caution is the turn to get into Wilson's from 240E and Amboy is a hairpin turn.

Wow!

This place is really awesome. Great riverfront view, pick your own spot when you get here. Tons of things to do for all ages seriously. A must stay for at least a couple of days.

Okay In A Pinch
By user-5815950... on 2017-10-23.
Greenway literally runs through park, no privacy. Concrete pad is not level, extremely noisy from Interstate. Not a great park but the pickings were slim this weekend. Full hook up, nice spring loaded cap on sewer, low water pressure.

Close to Downtown...
By user-5801052... on 2018-05-17.
The location is perfect for anyone wanting to explore downtown AVL or the River Arts District. That being said it is basically on I-26, but I had looked at a map beforehand and knew what I was booking. The traffic noise would probably be more tolerable in the summer with the AC running than in the winter with just the furnace. Like others reported the turn off the ramp is impossible, the office/store is a disaster, and the guy that runs the place is a grouch. Bathhouse is closed seasonally. WiFi is strong and consistent. Good option as a home-base for exploring the area.

right on river!

Convenient park to downtown, right on river, but the office is down the road a few yards where you check in. The person there was not very outgoing, but the dog is nice! There is a host on the first site on right and he was very helpful. It is weird that a public biking/walking trail runs right thru it, but that extra area makes it easier to back in. If you’re lucky enough to get a site on the river, just keep in mind that it could flood there. The outfitter next door said it was knee deep in their parking area after a tropical storm came in. We had a huge storm come thru while we were there, no flooding of course, but it got pretty muddy!
AT&T and Verizon service was good, wifi was poor. You are close enough you could Uber into town as parking is a premium down there. We camped in a fifth wheel and will probably be back!

Great location and river view
By user-5296486... on 2019-08-09.
Stayed 3 nights. Perfect place for visiting downtown and the Biltmore Estate. Great trail near by for running or walking. Only issue was the sanitary connection was broken which made for smelly gases to excape.

Handy to Asheville

It was very tricky getting into the park. I was glad I'd read reviews and knew to go down the road a bit to find a park and turn around there. WiFi was spotty but at least they had it. No one told me where to put trash so took it with me. I was right on the river with a beautiful view. It is full hook ups but so cold we had to disconnect hoses. Lots of full-time people there. I would stay again if I came back to Asheville.

The man in the office was a total jerk as soon as we said Passport America he had nothing available! It was almost empty . Kind of a dump!
