Best CG in Asheboro

This park is recently under new ownership and they have renovated all the bathhouses, the putt putt course, and electrical supply. The sites by the creek are w/e only, but definitely the nicest. The FHU sites are on a hill and are pretty much gravel and dirt. Good sized store, very nice bathhouses now. FHU sites are adjacent to the road and it's noisy. Great fishing pond and shopping in downtown Asheboro is great.

Nice place to stay for the weekend
By user-5260714... on 2017-10-23.
Not the best of everything but not the worst either. I have stayed their four times now and people are friendly. Remember your camping!!!!!!! If you want a 5 star place go to a motel/hotel. For the rates its not bad at all. Book well ahead for holidays as u won't get. Spot. Sites need to be more level but other than that I enjoy the place. management is very friendly.

Inexpensive, but there are reasons
By user-2595010 on 2017-10-23.
Only one bathroom open for a full cg, nothing is air conditioned, gravel roads full of potholes. It rained here and the roads turn into mudpits and the lower sites became marshland. I didnt get fhu because there is a nice bathhouse just above the creek sect, but it's closed! They do have a nice store and the pools are a decent size. Just beware of poor drainage if rain is in the forecast.

Ugg.
By user-4666688... on 2017-10-23.
The entrance sneaks up on you. There is a propane sign and a non discript driveway. We were placed in a "pull through site". Quotes because you would need a 4x4 to get over the roots in the front and shoot between the narrow trees that lined the site. The site itself was very unlevel. So narrow the awning couldn't be out as it would hot the adjacent fifth wheel. Auto Jacks couldn't level us. We changed sites. Next one was a little roomier and slightly more level. They do not have Internet despite what is advertised. I wouldn't stay here again. Stayed here in 40ft pusher.

me and my family's favorite place to stay
By user-5775184... on 2017-10-23.
Nice well maintained family-friendly campground, with many things to do, such as a giant jumping pillow two swimming pools an arcade a store with a very friendly host. I can't I log and this is one of my favorite campgrounds.. the -0 reviews that you read are totally wrong you need to come and visit this is from a camper. I have nothing to do with running this facility just a camper.

Nice place to stay
By user-5771843... on 2017-10-23.
We spent 4 days here and the kids really enjoyed themselves. The staff was super friendly, on site propane filling, Pool was nice, bath house clean, it rained heavy one day and the gravel roads turned to rivers. The very next morning they were grading the roads. Only negative is small fishing pond we caught a few small fish, good for kids but not much for more experienced fishermen.

Cramped

Got a Fhu site and got to enjoy the view of fifth wheels out of my windows. I'm a new camper and maybe that is common, but I am use to having more space. The site I was at was not that level, but I was glad to be on the hill when the rain came. The roads turned to rivers and I felt bad for those in the lower section. All other reviews are accurate when it comes to the stuff for the kids. Can't comment on the bathhouse as I did not use it. Even though I was close to the main road, it wasn't an issue. Paid $103.50 for 3 nights over easter weekend.

Ok for a couple of nights while you visit North Carolina zoo

Staff is friendly and accommodating, sites are pretty small but easy in and out. A little pricey considering no cable or WiFi. Probably a one shot deal for us

Family Friendly
By user-6090522... on 2017-10-23.
The entrance sneaks up on you; it's not a large sign, but if you have a decent GPS (I use Waze), it'll put you right at it. The gate is only wide enough for 1 vehicle. So if one is coming in, another can't get out. The check in office is about 500 feet prior to the sign, but that is to leave the gate clear for other campers.
The young lady in the office/store is very sweet and her store prices are very reasonable. Across from the store is propane filling and fire wood. The firewood is a bit green, so you'll definitely want some kindling or a hatchet to split.
It's all dirt/gravel roads and not graded regularly, but not terrible if you drive under 15. There are usually many children riding and running around, so slow is the way to go.
The sites are level, somewhat close together, but offer enough room for your rig and offers a picnic table and burn pit.
There are several bath houses throughout the CG, 2 dump stations, plus the option for for full hook-ups. The bath houses are kept fairly clean. I forgot to mention, the sweet, young lady is a one-man show. If you clean up after yourselves, it makes her job easier.
There is a rather large play area for the youngin's: Mini-Golf, Horseshoes, Jumping Pillow, Arcade, Swimming Pool and a Catch & Release Pond. There is also a building (forget what it's called) that offers a book exchange. If you need reading material or want to donate, that's the place.
Overall, this is a great place for family fun with many on site things to do and relatively close to the NC Zoo, Wet 'n Wild and many others. Unless you are used to KOA's, you will not be disappointed. But even if you are, this place is almost KOA worthy.

Hard to rate

Stayed during hollowed month so great kids. Haunted house was good and all the kids trick or treating. But...Bathhouse not so nice. Lot was so unlevel I had to hunt for someone with a 4x4 to pull me out. It rained hard and the whole place turned into a river. Roads were rivers and lower campsites under 6 inches of water. Campsite was nicely stocked, grounds were clean and we'll kept, and price was good. Overall the rating reflects the terribly unlevel sites and the frustration of trying to level the camper and get it out.

Gem in the woods!
By user-4616927... on 2018-07-06.
This campground has EVERYTHING! And if not you haven't looked around.
Pools, one with huge waterslide, game room with billiards table, foosball, arcade games, and outside is horseshoes, basketball, mini golf, children's playground, dog park, catch and release fishing pond, trails, water sluice to find treasures from a burlap bag of sand and well stocked store.
The camp site is level, gravel and with trees, picnic table and fire ring. This campground has Good Sam discount and reasonable rates.
I intend to stay here again!

No perks, overpriced , mudslide, no fun
By user-5226342... on 2019-08-09.
Stayed 2019-04-05 to 2019-04-06
Whole place is a mudslide from moment you step out RV. Not one area where I can walk or even walk dogs that is not covered in mud. Makes for a dirty RV. mini golf still not open...picture I saw posted with green putting area is a lie...I posted the true status of it here, horseshoes and volley ball all mud, arcade..most take your money but it is filthy in there at best. Trails...and swamp status complete with pipes sticking out when it begins.Almost all here are fulltime permanent residents, pool is closed and looks like a while before they could possibly clean it to get it available. Pillow jump is not in operation. The whole time here we have had to hear load tractor machinery, loud car traffic to the point we find ourselves jumping when many speeding by at over 70mph....and with GS discount we paid $62 per night. Thankfully we only have to stay here 2 nights. I will be happy to leave and never return here. Oh added bonus no wifi, no cable, and little to no cell service out of two different cell companies our 4 phones have. Dump station, pictured above covered in a water puddle not useable unless u want to stick your hands in that, also is $12 to dump. When I asked why I was overcharged and why they say all of these amenities are available on site but arrive and they r not, I was told to leave bc I could not be satisfied. I was polite and calm and owner became very mad about my questions. I told him nature trail even is not walkable or safe. He told our family to leave campground and I believe he did us a favor even though we had to drive back home after just arriving less than 24 hours. Very rude and nasty people that have no problem deceiving any newbies. Hands down, this is the worst camping experience our family has had in two years after staying at over 20 different campsites now.
